Expeditions & activities

What we do beneath the surface — and above it.

We are not a commercial dive company, and we do not take on assignments. Our work is driven by genuine passion, knowledge and a deep interest in what lies beneath the surface — everything here is carried out on our own time and without financial compensation. All activities are voluntary and non-commercial. Each participant is personally responsible for their own safety and must act within the limits of their own certification, training and experience.

01

Expeditions

Planned and overseen by the Board. Spots are allocated based on operational need and relevant skills, with a Safety Officer appointed where required.

02

Species surveys

We count and photograph species along fixed transects so the data can be compared year over year and shared with partners.

03

Underwater photo & film

Documentation is at the heart of the mission. Photographers and documentarians retain full copyright of their own material, and sharing observations and footage with Ocean Archive — for researchers, universities and similar organisations to access — is always voluntary and never required.

04

Eelgrass watch

Repeat visits to selected eelgrass meadows to follow how these habitats change over time.

05

Wrecks & heritage

Documenting wrecks with respect for legislation and remains — we take pictures, nothing else.

06

Operational support

Safety diving, surface support and vessel operations. Associated Members contribute in these roles alongside documentarians.
